Added Tulane to the BE I am sure did not help them want to stay.

It was not on the board yesterday and will be announced today. You had speculation on Louisville, Cincinnati, and UConn but now you have concrete proof of who is going so it is not old news.

This is all so fricking depressing. We pushed the boulder up to the top of the mountain, only to have it roll down the other side. Image

Very depressing. I wonder if Aresco knew this was already in the works and added Tulane and ECU knowing this was already inevitable.

If he didn't know, shame on him....I'm sure anybody with half a braincell could tell you this would happen.

I just thought there were better options than Tulane.

I definitelty think he knew that more movement was imminent. Still concerned the Presidents chose Tulane. I personally would have been happy with Southern Miss. ECU? OK. Big East wants to stay at 12 because he is presently negotiating TV Contract including substantial money for a BE Championship and apparently BYU and Air Force aren't ready. Why not Southern Miss? The only thing I can think of is that they have a history of taking non-qualifiers, walkon non-qualifiers paying in state tuition etc. This is a Presidential level decision not one made by Coaches or AD. Perhaps location too but they at least represent the southern half of a state with a decent following

I'm shocked by this. I thought UConn was a no-brainer. Louisville is terrible academically compared to the other ACC schools. All about the benjamins, though.

Louisville is a greater loss to BE than a UConn, but the best move for ACC. Louisville does not bring media market, but its BB market is over-sized, due to Pitino. Plus, FB attendance is much greater than UConn.

Cincinnati and UConn have been campaigning to the ACC, but the Conference has no enthuisaism for either, apparently.

The pick-up of Tulane and ECU was done in anticipation of losing Louisville, who was the last marquee FB school left with the exception of Cincinnati.

I believe Boston College shot down UConn when the ACC took Pitt and Syracuse. As I recall, the idiot President or AD of BC actually stated that publically. I imagine the same thing happened this time. BC does not want UConn in the ACC. The irony of course is that the sands are already shifting under BC's feet. I bet they end up in the same boat as UConn.

And UConn is better, academically?

Yes, considerably, judging by USNWR rankings, I believe

The Tulane add was a result of knowing Louisville was on their way out.
