Dedman College Humanities Course For Students Attending Game

We should all lobby Turner to set up a special Dedman College Humanities credit course for all students who attend a game and stay for the fourth quarter... I will offer my services as an adjunct professor in how football builds character... 8)

At this point, we need to shake these little twerps into having some sense of school spirit. I'm for anything and I don't care if we tick them off. Try mass psychology, give them free condoms at the beginning of the fourth quarter, start the "Mustang Jugend" , dress them all in shorts and make them salute Peruna!

I don't care, just do something...

I've always thought we should do something like $50 Pony bonus to any students whose ID is scanned at all home football games. Or give them a amnesty for 1 parking ticket, something to reward school spirit.

We ought to create a group to recognize those that commit to going to each and every home game.

Definitely parking tickets... It's just sad it has to come to this but it is what it is, and desperate times call for desperate measures.

Recruit better students.

I agree. I think it'd be a great idea to create some incentive for going (and staying beyond half time) for the students. Gotta do something to make people want to stay at the game, until we can actually get fans by, you know, being good, one day.

Funny thing about fans... they show up when you don't suck.

That being said, promoting the game on campus & incentives are all great ideas. Loved hearing that a professor gave extra credit for students who attended the Tulsa game. We need more like her. Getting the faculty on board is important.

I was on a flight from Orange County to DFW last Sunday and happened to sit next to a kid from Laguna Beach who is a freshman at TCU. I asked him why he picked TCU for college. His answer: "the football team." It apparently makes a difference.

Anyone care to venture a guess as to how many students attended, or at least had their ID's scanned, for every football game in 2012. The answer may surprise you, but not in a good way.

I would say 200 but of course there were times when I bought tickets rather than swiping because I hate the drunk frat guys who I always felt were one second away from barfing up the vard food

I'd be surprised if you had an actual answer, but there's no way very many made every single home game. The memphis game after we lost to tulane and the game over thanksgiving break had to wipe out the majority of kids who may have actually been otherwise. At least when I was there, I definitely never ran into anyone who went to 6 games in one season (sad but true)

Couldn't be 200 because there were only about 75 at the Tulsa game

Tough to expect kids to stay in town for Thanksgiving game when we're 5-6
