If we were playing a highly ranked OU today comng off of a win vs Texas with gorgeous weather, I'd like to think we'd pack Ford.

yeah well we couldn't sellout 32,000 for Texas A&M which has bigger Dallas fanbase even after 3 straight bowl games

True. I thought A&M really dropped the ball on turnout for that game. Probably a lot of other away games their fans would rather travel to in their first season in the SEC

After getting blown out by Baylor ...the bloom was off the rose for the TAMU game.

$105 for 7 games-don't think SMU fans-other than the 15,000 that showed up- have much room to [deleted]. Just really not too interested in SMU Football even after 3 straight bowl games. Generally the idea is for the Home team to drive the sellout. That was the strategy in keeping tickets high but SMU fans failed to respond and SMU ended up with about 750 more fans per game this year inflated by A&M and TCU fans

well our season ticket sales were up big time - so someone was responding.
aggies didnt really come like i thought they would. cheapskates. And TCU was disappointing also - they don't draw like the propaganda.

Total mismanagement by SMU! Remember the limit placed on orders? Giving A&M only 3,000? Then later offering another 4,000 or so that they said too much of a problem the first go around-"no Thanks"? Then pricing?

aTm did not drop the ball. The game was at SNU. If SMU can't fill it's own stadium without depending on a super huge turnout by visiting fans then SMU is wak and SMU dropped the all.

we are small school. please try to understand that. we wont ever fill our own stadium unless we start beating relevant teams.

Uh, any sellout we've ever had has depended on significant turnout by the opposing team's fans.

Beat #15 TCU in 2011 and still couldn't come close to filling Ford for a rematch of the conference championship from the previous year two weekends later. That day was the day the momentum turned in an unfortunate direction for SMU. JJ stopped giving a [deleted]

Thats because everyone knew it was going to be a blowout and guess what they were right lol. If we actually beat winning teams then yeah I would say we have a sucky fan base. It was painful for me (as i imagine all of us) to watch that game.
