let's just hope that jj leaves and will find a place for Glanville in his new job. We don't need to lose Mason. Our D saved our bacon numerous times and was responsible for a number of our wins.

I'd be ok with him replacing Palcic. Glanville has a fiery personality which would be good for the team, but we need recruiters. Can he recruit Texas? Personality wise he fits the mold of what I would like our coach to look like, just wish he was younger.

Our 71 yr old BB coach seems to be doing fine.

Why not get a 71 yr old FB coach?

Lots of sarcasm included in previous statement.

Because the BBall coach has surrounded himself with recruiters and he recruits. This is not the FB method of operation

Honestly, if I was Glanville I would contact a small school like a Trinity or somewhere and try to be a HC there, similiar to PJ Carlissimo (sp) taking an NAIA Head coaching job. That way, I could run the program like I like, and recruiting would not be the major priority that it is on the FCS or FBS level.

But I always liked Glanville, and I wish him luck.

1. The only way Mason leaves is if another school hires him away with a big-dollar offer to be DC, or if some school looks at him as a head coach.

2. Palcic? Glanville is a defensive coach, and Palcic has done an exceptional job this year, putting together a line of guys who hadn't played together before and keeping Gilbert alive and allowing Zach Line to have another good year running. He's also having one of his THREE Outland Trophy winners (Jonathan Ogden) inducted in to the College Football Hall of Fame this weekend. Palcic is not the problem, or anything close to it..

I think we're fresh out of spots, that is unless one of June's current blue haired assistants wants to retire.

Yup. I did not like the title of this thread at all.

Atleast Glanville has some emotion. I am tired of the Morgue atmosphere on our sideline.

Think of the new season ticket buyers just in hopes that Elvis will show up.

I have plenty of emotion, but I'd be the worst football coach ever. There are different ways to skin a cat ... or a Cougar.

Why don't you ask Palcic if he will go after high ranked recruits to SMU?....he won't, and is yet another SMU coach that don't think that high ranked kids will even look at SMU because June says so. He may be a great OL coach, but we still need coaches that will recruit 'difference maker' kids to SMU.
