We've signed around 100 players over the past 7 yrs with zero or virtually zero (SFA-only type) offers.
These are true D-i-t-R players.
Look at how little they have contributed to our teams over this period. A real eye opener.

Agreed Ponyscott. One would think at a minimum 2/3rds of this class would have multiple quality non-BCS offers.
Our D-i-t-R success rate speaks for itself. Most of this incoming class will be complete busts.

And how has that worked in Austin?
Mac must use the Rivals site to sort through his recruiting priorities. Always at or near the top on the recruiting rankings per their editors, but somehow they just never pan out.
"My son always dreamt of playing for the Longhorns, he was even willing to go as a preferred walk-on", Mother of Johnny Football.
"Sorry son, Rivals doesn't have you at the top of the QB list in Texas", Mac Brown. "I said the same a few years ago about RGIII".

I think most would agree that UT has underperformed recently.
Yet over the past 10 years they have played in 9 bowl games including 2 Rose Bowls and 1 Fiesta Bowl (all victories), played in 2 National Championship games, having won 1.
Pretty dumb post MM, and for the record, many schools passed on Johnny Football & RGIII.

How has it worked it Tuscaloosa, South Bend, Baton Rouge, Athens, Columbus, Gainesville, Palo Alto, Norman and Eugene?

He went with GG......so far, he has been a bust compared to his ranking as a top QB.

I would say the Aggies have already passed them

Ausitn is the exception to the rule but look how it has worked at Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, etc. The majority do workout Mexmustang and that is Stallions point.

I think you're right - Mack can't be blamed for finding every prospect. Barry Switzer was once asked how he could let Barry Sanders go to Oklahoma State and he pointed out that you only have so many schollies to give and the guys he gave the scholarships to were an inch taller, a tenth of a second faster, and looked better on film. You play the numbers and you take your chances.

Just raising the issue, not defending our recruiting. The end all, be all is simply not how recruiting sites assign stars, but how these kids perform on the field. In most cases coaches make better evaluations than aspiring young sports reporters that never even saw a high school field.

It's not even an exception to the rule. They won a national championship, a Rose Bowl and a Fiesta Bowl in the last decade, had a string of 10 win seasons, were in the national championship game in 2009, and are pissed off about an 8-4 season in a real conference. Mack's not the best coach, but hard to argue with those results from his recruiting if you look at it objectively and not through the delusion of an entitled fanbase like UT or any other major school. In fact, it proves the rule that even if the coaching sucks, you can win with better talent in spite of your coaching..
