The band has been notified that half the band will travel to Hawaii for the bowl game.

Ridiculous. With the spirit and loyalty the band has provided for decades, the university can't come up with the cash to send all 80 of them?

Maybe private donor(s) could drum up the rest. Anyone...

So are half the pom squad and half the cheer squad and half the Peruna handlers getting the same deal?

Send Hart and Turner your thoughts. I think it is pathetic.

Personally, instead of taking half the band, I would rather the university put that money in the new band hall fund. Either take the whole band, or no band.

If you can't do it right, don't do it at all.

Let us make sure of the facts before going off the deep end re the band. Many of the band kids might not be able to attend for various reasons. After all it is Christmas eve and many people have family and religious priorities over playing in a low tier bowl game that is not convenient for anyone to attend.

Double checked with my inside man. Half the band will stay home. This is a glass half empty situation. I did my part and emailed Dr. Turner my displeasure.

I confirmed it with my people but that doesn't matter. Facts never stopped ponyfans before, right?

Couple of the band members have posted on Facebook about their displeasure about not being chosen to go to Hawaii. Looks like something similar might have happened with Spirit, as one of my friends who does Peruna sometimes was told he isn't going either.

Maybe only half the football team should go since they only played half the time anyway??
