If this happens, I'm done with college football after I graduate.

Edit: Well, I'd follow and donate to the Coogs but that's it.

The golden rule of college athletics: "He who has the gold makes the rules"

UH, SMU, Memphis, Temple, USF, UCF, Cincy, UConn, and ECU's gold >>>>>>>>>>>> CUSA's or the SBC's.

His comments make Norm's look positively insightful. If that's the standard for journalism at CBS, we all should be expecting job offers in the next 72 hours.

I agree with the Coog. If we go sunbelt, I quit on smu athletics. What a colossal waste of time following a SunBelt SMU team would be.

I dont think we have to worry about being stuck in the sunbelt. I guarantee you they take the death penalty (self-imposed) before ever going to the SBC. Lowest we will go is MWC, highest we will go is the remnants of the BE.

We may not be the flagship of the US Seventh Fleet, but we are a Flagship school at the CUSA level. Essentially, the "stranded schools" were the top of the CUSA and the Bottom of the Big East.

SMU, UH, UCF, USF, Cincy, Memphis, Tulane, and ECU will steal the top of the existing CUSA if we want to.

The interesting quesiton will be: East or West

Assuming BYU and SDSU join the MWC, would we be better off joining with UH or BYU and heading West?

Take out Tulane and your statement is more believable.

I didn't call Tulane a flagship. I just included them in the list of the stranded schools. BUT, compare to new CUSA member Middle Tennessee State, they are a Flagship.

I bet some of you are the type of people that threaten to move to Canada if President "X" is elected.

It's just a scenario that he threw out, not etched in stone. Quite honestly, nobody knows what will happen with the leftovers from the Big East once the Catholic 7 move out. And considering the Sun Belt's RPI is higher than Conference USA's (according to RealTimeRPI.com), quit crying.

Best guess: With or without Boise State and/or San Diego State, the orphans make a go of it on their own.

Without Boise as a foundation, the reconstituted league (Big Leftovers?) would have SMU and Houston as the flagships if for no other reason because of some TV market appeal.
This was the real conclusion.

I would say, with or without the BE label, it makes sense at this point to stick together.
