Last this evening, ESPN reports San Diego State AD is still committed to BE. Perhaps the remaining FB members are sticking to decision. With Cincinnati and Memphis, BB will have some power.

Salvaging BE (w/o Catholics BB) is still on path. I think we will see everyone fight to create the Best of the Rest.

Cincinnati and UConn are probably out at their first chance to get to the ACC.

Does the ACC want them? If they did, they could already have them.

One interesting tidbit on UConn and ESPN. ESPN is getting a lot of state money to develop a new property in Bristol. I would be every penny I own that our idiot Governor and 2 Senators are going to be pressuring ESPN to help Uconn get into the ACC.

When the ACC starts losing their best schools to other conferences they'll want Cincy and UConn. There are very few quality expansion options available for the ACC.

Knowing that UCONN and Cincinnati are lobbying for the ACC to take them, I still think our best move is to forge a conference with them. You get UCONN, Cincinnati, Temple, Memphis, SMU, Houston, USF, and UCF together and you have something Larry Brown can sell in basketball. If football stays stagnant and basketball can use UCONN, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Temple to sell the program and get to that level than I think it will have been worth it. At that point we would be a national program in hoops and think that we could all live with that.

That conference would last a few months tops before the ACC comes in and takes whatever they want and leaves it for dead.

If the ACC wanted Cincy/UCONN, they'd have taken them. The Catholic 7 breakaway changes nothing.

A Coast to Coast conference will fail in the next round of shape shifting by the majors.

The TV Market Dream is so [deleted]. It makes no difference to schools like SMU. I would wager that the First and Ten does 2-3 million in REvenue a year. Thats basically what most people here want to sell out for...the revenue of the best sports bar in Lakewood.
