My guess is that by either the end of spring football or next August Burcham will be as ready to run this offense[and maybe better] as GG-just a hunch.

Whether or not he is, my understanding was that due to June's relationship with GG's dad, this was extremely unlikely to happen.

Based on what exactly?

I seriously doubt GG's dad has anything to do with it. JJ has talked at length about the learning process, etc., and while they both have been on campus for a year, GG has played every game while Burcham has redshirted. GG seems the clear leader heading in to spring.

Might as well let burcham have another year off no sense sending in the rookie. Maybe they will put him on a couple game next year when we are either getting our butts handed or when we play Memphis.

Short of injury or disaster, GG is your quarterback next year. He'll be all conference and play in the NFL. Burcham gets his shot in 2014.

I'm worried about GG lighting it up in the Hawai`i Bowl and declaring early for the NFL draft.
It would be tough dealing with another new starter again next season and the learning curve during the difficult non-conference schedule.

Let's see CP get a few snaps while we're running out the clock in Hawaii!

I think we have three good QBs on campus that will play well during the spring and the fall.
Nobody can outplay Gilbert in practice, he is incredible in practice. So I don't see him losing his job unless he plays really, really poorly at the beginning of the season.

Not even then. When you're tabbed June's guy- you are playing come hell or high water. And when you're on June's sh-t list, good luck ever sniffing the field again.

Based on JJ's pattern here Burch will be starting at some point next season.

and then lead Eastern Washington deep into Division !AA playoffs. Burchum's got a lot of physical development before he steps on the field. but thats OK that's why you redshirt freshman
