So true. Virtually all the bowls controlled by ESPN ABC kind of blows. ESPN owns College Football for all intents and purposes.

If they had come in with decent cash BEFORE Tulane and ECU got bid-we could have had a very competitive Best of East/West Conference-but pushing SMU/Houston West made adding enough West teams impossible. Then you could have had ECU and whoever ready to step in if UCONN and Cincy left

Why did they wait if they wanted a decent product? By waiting they left the NBE out to dry. Seems to me that by trying to get a better price they ended up with much less or maybe nothing. You would have thought they might want to have propped up the NBE like ESPN does for its products. If NBC doesn't bid on NBE, what programming is left for them to fill out their sports channel?

What incentive is there to cover the Big East? The conference won't exist in 3 years if that.

If they have any executives with vision they could still salvage the Big East in terms of basketball. Money rules the world and if they offered the Big East a good contract only if the basketball schools stay and tell the basketball schools that apart from the football schools they don't see half of the money, then it could be salvaged without Boise State.
