Ranks all the bowls on watchability scale of 1-10. At least we beat the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Wheeee!

"Hawai'i Bowl -- 3

December 24, SMU 43, Fresno State 21

Everyone made jokes about this game and holiday movies and stuff. That's all I really remember about it. Completely forgettable on a poorly-timed night. I'm sure the players had a lot of fun in Hawai'i, though."

I guess that makes the point more than anything. Doesn't it?

The fact that the game was so one-sided in our favor probably lowered the watchability score.

Assuming not a fan of either team, that the watchability score would have been like a 2 so this seems reasonable.

any blowout is only "watchable" for the fans of the winning team. How many watched the National Championship Game until the bitter end. Nobody I work with in the eastern time zone except for the one Bama guys among us.

SMU Fresno started with a small audience and it was over by halftime

we did our part. Fresno St is the one who mucked it up.

Austin paper rates the Hawaii Bowl #22 just below the Orange Bowl at #21. Originally rated #29, this bowl earned watchability points on shock value alone as the 13 point underdog SMU Mustangs rose up. Pony Up! At least somebody noticed. And they got the score right.

I would have put the Orange higher - it was a game until the 4th quarter. That, and the underdog factor, made it a decent game.

Right on, I blame Fresno's lack of sex appeal.

Woof, woof.
