Tackles For Reed & Davis

I didn't get to see the NFLPA game yesterday and can't find defensive stats anywhere to see if Reed or Davis notched any tackles. If anyone watched the game and saw how they played I would appreciate the feedback.

I thought Reed looked pretty good. I did not see the whole game nor did I see him do anything spectacular but when I saw him he was very active. He did very well on special teams coverage which will help him.

Davis played a lot and came close on a lot of sacks. He was often the second person to the QB. Do not think he was there quick enough to get 1/2 sack credit but he did show a pretty good pass rush. He played as an end rather than in the middle as he usually did at SMU.

Looked like Davis got a forced fumble and that is what the announcer said..

Thanks for the feedback and glad they both got some PT. Hopefully this game improved both their draft potential/stock and we get more 'Stangs in the league.

According to friends of mine in the business, Reed looked very good all week in practice--in fact, some said the best player there. Sometimes the best defensive LB, because of the defensive schemes, get overshadowed by those players that are being setup to make the tackles and by differing responsibilities.

Sort of sounds like the discussions we have had a few times on this board regarding our own LB's and what assignment responsibilities they have on any given play, and how some are asked to sacrifice for the greater cause, while others are set-up to make the plays we see.

I watched the game on TV, T-Reed and Spike looked good and moved well. After watching the game a couple of times, I think everyone of our starting LB's could have competed in this game on an even footing and Pitman as well. I'm just talking about the "D', not suggesting we don't/didn't have some "O" that could have played as well.

Taylor Reed led the National team with 6 tackles - 4 solos and 2 assisted.

T-reed also had a forced fumble, and he had a big hit/tackle on special teams .... not bad for a guy who did not get a ton of playing time.
