3.0 quake in Irving tonight. It seems this is becoming a monthly occurrence. Maybe I just never noticed before, or they just weren't reported but is this normal?

We are on a fault, but they do seem more frequent. FRACKING?!?! I am doubtful.

Fracking is not a new phenomenon. It's been happening in the industry for years.

When I was living in Dallas, I remember hearing that we had a huge number of earthquakes - much more than California has. But, a large quantity of earthquakes is a good thing b/c it reduces pressure in small amounts. North Texas and Oklahoma have faults that work like a pressure valve.

In contrast, the faults on the West Coast tend to build up enormous amounts of pressure before they finally move.

Hey we had our first noticable quake here in Virginia in like 300 years. I thought at first it was a terrorist attack or something. But then it kept going for about a minute and then I figured out what it was. Of course everyone did everything you are not supposed to do, like go outside.

Actually no, the problem is that I overindulged on the stuffed jalapenos at the Spread Eagle Saloon. My apologies but d@mn they were good.
