Upgrade at right tackle. Not sure about guards. Will be some competition for sure. Will be interesting to see how Myers, Hughes, and Briggs shake out. We should have some quality depth now at least.

I think Rice was playing at LG for the most part. So i think the left side of the line is known - Gott, Rice, Lasecki.
Lots of unknowns on the other side, but I think we will be better across the board.

I think Seaver Myers starts next year, probably at RT. I don't think Ashton Duhe has done anything to make me think he'll see the field next year.

SMU will definitely have some depth at OL.

Certainly will be the biggest OL post-DP:
Gott: 6'5"
Rice: 6'4"
Lasecki: 6'3"
Weeks: 6'5"
Lowe: 6'5"
And backups Myers and Briggs are both 6'6", Reich is 6'7", and Hughes is 6'4" if those are the 2 deep. Walling is 6'6" and I think Miller is 6'4".

I don't know. The line that included Austin Adami, Trey Bandy, Bill Holder, Jerry Chavira and (WHO AM I FORGETTING?) was pretty stout, too.
JasonB: when did Rice play LG? I thought he played only on PATs, but I guess I didn't pay close enough attention.
PonyFan: did Weeks move to guard? I thought he was a tackle all the way.

Rice was LG in the practices I saw.

Whats the deal with Lowe, is there any reason to think he'll start this season besides the fact he was a 4-star recruit out of high school? I thought he'd see some time last year

Due to an admissions foul-up, Lowe could not play last year. So he should be good to go this year, but I don't have any expectations because he's been sitting out for a couple of years now. He wasn't I playing shape when he arrived, so there's no telling where he's at now.
So I have no expectation for Lowe to compete this (I believe his last) year, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Me too, although there was a lot of excitement about Seaver Myers at the start of last year, too, and I wonder if Kris Weeks could flip over to the other side of the line and make them all better with all 3 competing for the job.
