Zach Line's chances of going home?

SMU running back Zach Line has made no secret about how much he would enjoy it if he were drafted by his hometown Detroit Lions. But now there's a lot of talk that the Lions are close to a contract agreement with former New Orleans Saint/Miami Dolphin Reggie Bush, and have offered him the starting job. Does that take running back off the team's wish list for next month's draft?

The other running backs on Detroit's roster:

Joique Bell (5-11, 220): know nothing about him (second-leading rusher in 2012 with 82 carries for 414 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns)
Jahvid Best (5-10, 199): little guy with history of numerous concussions. There was some talk over the offseason that he might retire.
Mikel Leshoure (6-0, 227): bigger guy, once thought to be the starter of the future, but has had several run-ins with the law. (Team's leading rusher in 2012, with 798 yards on 215 carries and 9 rushing touchdowns)
Devin Moore (5-9, 190): another little guy.

That'd be great for Zach, but it's starting to look like they are the front runners for Reggie Bush. That makes for a crowded back field.

Detroit Lions enjoyed another Mustang, Doak Walker. Good luck, Zach.

Reggie Bush is a featured back, so I don’t know how much that effects Zack … the bigger question is what happens with/to the other guys on that list. IMO Zack is still a late round pick … if he gets drafted and certainly UFA for anyone. I don’t see were the others on that list would keep them from bringing in Zack if they thought he would fit/help. IMO a lot rides on Zack's Pro-day.

I've got a sneaky feeling that Zach ends up with a star on his helmet. If he's still around in the 6th or 7th round I think Dallas would take him in a heartbeat. He has the chance to be an immediate contributor on special teams and could be used in short yardage situations. Would love to see #48 with the Cowboys.

Bush (and I disagree about him being an every-down back -- can't see him lasting through a full season that way) agreed today to a 4-year deal with the Lions.

not a good situation for Line. he'd obviously be 4th in that rotation. Leshoure, although benched late in the season, will still get touches, and so will Bell. Bush will be the feature back, and is the best of the bunch by far as long as he's healthy.

he would definitely be FB at best (other than ST), but i don't know how much they run out of a two back set.
