SMU will hold its annual Pro Day next week, welcoming scouts, coaches and perhaps even general managers from NFL teams to the Hilltop to evaluate SMU players as candidates for the NFL. In addition to the seniors who finished their college careers in 2012, a handful of former SMU players will be returning home after time away from campus to work out again in the hope of catching the attention of the professional scouts.

Hope Padron has a good Pro Day here. He's a good kid.
Hope all the kids have a good day at SMU's Pro Day.

Didn't Padron leave Eastern Washington despite having another year of eligibility?

That makes his statement that he "wanted to play this game as long as I could" seem pretty ridiculous.

No. He played three years at SMU, and one at Eastern Washington.

Good luck to all of the Mustangs taking part in Pro Day.

I meant it as a rhetorical question, he did declare early:

Obviously they gave him a redshirt for the last year at SMU when he only played a few plays.
