Texas football player Kendall Sanders was arrested early Saturday in Brazos County for DWI.
According to the police report, Sanders was confined at 5:10 a.m. and released at 7:43 a.m. Sanders turns 19 in May.
The report was apparently removed from the Brazos County website late Saturday night, but you can click the screenshot of the report at right to enlarge it.
Sanders, a sophomore in the fall, finished the spring session as the early favorite for the No. 3 wide receiver spot - which was essentially handed to him after Cayleb Jones (also a sophomore-to-be) was suspended indefinitely for breaking the jaw of a UT tennis player.
Sanders and Jones aren’t the only football players to run into trouble with the law recently. Reserve quarterback Connor Brewer was arrested for public intoxication in January and Case McCoy and Jordan Hicks were sent home early from the Alamo Bowl after a 21-year-old woman told San Antonio police she had been raped. No charges were ever filed.
We’ll update once the Longhorn issue a statement.
