I may be wrong about this but I think ESPN is giving SMU more ink than the DMN.

good god, the picture in that article makes him look enormous. haha
and yes they definitely are. In the (currently named) big east blog, the lunchtime links they post everyday are from other newsites and papers. DMN is the only one for SMU and thus there is never any articles about us. UCF, Houston, USF, UConn have stuff pretty much everyday. SMU gets something once every two weeks
Maybe we should all email Andrea Adelson and try and get her to link some of the better Ponyfans articles published here?

I'm still trying to figure out why the DNN gives so much coverage to Oklahoma.

SMU has an opportunity as a member of the AAC to garner more media attention, but needs to strike quickly. We need to be a story on both the football field and basketball court in the 2013-2014 school year and then need to continue to improve year after year until we are legitimately competitive with top 25 programs. It would help if several conference mates would do the same
Having Louisville playing in the conference next year is a huge plus for media attention, but we can't let them dominate as they will be expected to

That's the same thing I was thinking. Guy looks strong.
I always thought we were going to look back on the ZLine days and wish we had a guy like him back. Shead wants to run head first through that wall. I like this guy already.

look at his highlites he can slide and pop to the outside but has the frame to take it up the gut. He's gonna be tough to handle when SMU spreads to field

Sounds like he has his head on straight.
Wish him and his family well.
Bring it.

How much eligibility does Shead have left? What were Shead's issues at Texas? He never seemed to get a chance there.

2 years left. As with many top recruited players its often less a matter of "washing out" and more a matter of other 5 stars and 4 stars stacked at the same position that beat him out. The Texas backfield is loaded. He might not have the speed to be as effective in UT's offense too. In SMU's offense, The field is spread to a greater degree

I haven't seen any film - is he quick like Shawnbrey? Can't say enough about how much that helped the '09 team to have a speed back.

Two different body types-not really a speed back-but he's got good speed for a big guy-but he does have to ability to slide along the line and find the hole. This is from his first JUCO game I believe-really only game action after graduation from small high school

Yep - Looks like he hits holes well, not as speedy. Might be tough to bring down too.

He's certainly not afraid of contact.
