Will Darrelle Revis trade affect Margus Hunt?

Maybe. Most project Margus Hunt to get chosen somewhere in the second half of the first round or first half of the second round. But when the Jets traded Revis to Tampa Bay, they acquired a second first-round pick: No. 13 overall.
Predictions are guesses - at best, educated guesses - and most seem to think 13 is too high for Hunt. But NYJ head coach Rex Ryan worked extensively with him, one-on-one, at SMU's Pro Day, and seemed extremely impressed. He was throwing around a lot of "great job!" and "that's it!" comments (from what we could hear). To be fair, maybe Ryan is like that with every player he works out, but he sure seemed to be impressed and intrigued by Hunt.
Some in attendance at Pro Day figured Ryan was considering him with the Jets' second-round pick, but will the Jets consider taking him 13th overall?
Should be interesting.

13 would be too high IMO. If they could trade back from 13 to later in the first and grab him that would make more sense.

13 would be a reach but he won't be there in the 2nd and trading back into the late 1st doesn't guarantee you'll get him since several other teams in that range are interested in him.

This NY Jets season ticket holder would love to see Margus in green.

People still admit to being Jets season ticket holders these days?

Like Smu fans, we are gluttons for punishment.

I'm just giving you a hard time. As a Redskins fan, I've had to bury my head in the sand for years before last season.

The mocks I've seen the last few days all had Hunt drop out of the first round.

Yes, his football background is short, but the physical tools are there, to say the least, and NFL GMs fall in love with physical potential. I'd be surprised if he fell out of the first round, but it's definitely possible.
Can you imagine being the GM who lands Margus Hunt in the second round? You'd feel like the luckiest guy alive.

Not happening, but I really wish the Texans would draft him!
