Can we start referring to the the AAC as The American and not the AAC? Skimming through threads, it is way too aggravating to discern between the AAC and the ACC.

No one refers to the SEC as the Southeastern or the ACC as the Atlantic Coast.

Until "The American" stops sounding bush league and stops being a [Deleted] name, no.

The league is branding itself as "The American" so I think we should start referring to it that way as well.

All of you non-conforming hipsters can call it the AAC if you want, though.

I think a better justification for the change would be confusion with the American Airlines Center. But I typically only hear that referred to as the AAC on the ticket.

hey, I don't like "The American" any better than anyone else does. The AAC isn't any better. I'm just going for clarity here.

and to answer your question Ponyboy - a quick search shows that "ACC" has been mentioned 90 times in the past month.

So in other words, pretty frequently.

I'm hearing it called the AAC a lot and in many different places - AAC is clearly ahead and more importantly sticking with the gen pop. Plus, it's a good thing because the more you hear AAC, the less you hear Big Least! Roll with it and be thankful SMU is out of C-USA.
