Yet they are still over .500 with that coach.

Then they serve a Five year commitment, I believe, to the defense of our country. God Bless them all.

My dad played football for Air Force on the team that went undefeated and tied TCU 0-0 in the cotton bowl back in the day. They don't give you a break as an athlete there. It's amazing what Troy has been able to do (and fisher debarry before him). It's proves what good coaching and hard work can do.

I can tell you this, those boys never get tired. They practice all the way up in Colorado Springs and still have to do all the physical stuff the other cadets do as well. It's pretty amazing. I always like seeing them do well.

Its a shame we couldn't have brought them and maybe BYU (yes I know it never would have happened) to the American and kept BSU and STDSU

Air Force is in class which only includes Army and Navy. These later two enjoy playing in the single best annual football game every year: Army vs. Navy. The passion and respect on both sides delivers the best of this country in a much more meaningful way than any Power Conference game or Championship.

After these three, Northwestern and Vanderbilt deserve their own recognition after being doormats for most of their entire athletic history. Stanford comes next, as does Notre Dame with its own standards. BCS schools despite their unquestionable success and talent do not stir the emotion and admiration of the Service Academies and a few of these high quality private schools. Even USC does not get special consideration given their history.

Thanks for the addition. Rice is certainly deserving, but isn't likely to recover and be competitive despite running a clean program combined with academic excellence. I wish the Owls more success and respect them immensely.
