COLE BEASLEY: Ready to build on his debut

After finishing a stellar career at SMU, receiver Cole Beasley still was viewed as something of a longshot to make an NFL roster. He's quick, but lacks prototypical top-end speed. He's athletic, but measured in at just under 5-foot-8. But thanks to his exceptional route running and hands, Beasley made the Dallas Cowboys' roster last year. A year later, he's out to prove 2012 was no fluke, and visited with PonyFans.com to discuss his view of the offseason, his chances to make the roster again, his new receivers coach (former SMU assistant Derek Dooley) and how a tweaked Dallas offense might help him thrive.

I had forgotten that Dooley coached at SMU. It's very cool that you got him (and the linebackers coach in the Taylor Reed story) to talk about our guys.
Good luck, Cole!

Cole should be able to take the 5th receiver spot again this year to make the 53 man.
