But Texas High School (in Texarkana) linebacker Anthony Rhone embraces comparisons to his father, who played for nine years in the NFL and appeared in two Super Bowls. Rhone visited with PonyFans.com to discuss how he measures up against his dad and what made him decide the time was right to commit to SMU.

I remember Earnest Rhone with the Dolphins. If this guy is anything like his old man, we have landed a stud!

If Coach Mason thinks this guy can play linebacker, he can play.

we've got depth at LB so that makes it easier to take on a guy that is projected to get bigger, faster, etc...especially when he has a high football IQ

Seems like a lot of guys we're recruiting have a high football IQ, which never hurts. This guy could be extremely crucial, with Pope and Joyner graduating.
