Love everything I just read in that article. Young, hard working, ambitious, used to winning. He should thrive here.

I think we are seeing a trend by Coach Jones to bring in some younger coaches who hopefully can be used not only in their coaching position but in the recruiting process as well.

I agree. I think he's starting to worry that his legacy is going to be one of mediocrity, at best, if he doesn't start hustling.

June should be a band director, he sure likes to yell at them to hurry up when the football team loses to SEC teams.

OBVIOUSLY Coach Jones has had his problems. However, he has been the most successful coach SMU has had in (not looking at any data) the last SIXTY (60) years if you disqualify those coaches suspected of cheating (and assume no cheating now). I like what I hear from his staff (new and old). I like what I see and hear...just hope it pays off on the football field. Here's wishing the Mustangs a year of GREAT success. PONY UP!

This is the year June makes the naysayers eat crow.

You call that hustling?

I pray we do, I just don't see it happening. 6-6 would be a miracle honestly

I think the first game will be a decent indicator of how the season could go when we play good teams. 8-4 is definitely a possibility.

So anything he does you agree with is because he is finally starting to care, but anything he does you disagree with is because he is lazy or stupid?

I do not see why you have to take backhanded shots if it is something you agree with.

I don't think it was a backhanded shot. He does have a legitimate point. I am just glad exciting things are happening. :D

Read it for what it is. I like JJ but I don't think he's given anywhere near 100%. He seems to be trying a LITTLE harder now and I think that's because he's realizing some of the shine has come off his reputation and he doesn't want to retire being knonw as a mediocre coach. That's ok if ego is the motivator that gets this hung going. I'm really happy that's he's done a lot with this program. I just think he has the ability to do a lot more. If you're good with beating the SFA's handily while not belonging on the same field with Baylor, my comments aren't for you.
