and I'm really believing that Zelt Minor is going to be a very special player for us...I'm shocked he didn't have more offers than what he did...Colbert looks very athletic as does Cedric Lancaster... Loving the fact that we've built such a strong rapport with this school. It'd be great if we could steal their safety Bonney as well.

Bonney would be a coup, considering the offers he has. But if we could pull it off ...

I'm happy to start with Lancaster and Minor. How did Hyder and Walker look to you?

Walker appears to have legitimate speed however I've yet to see any plays where Colbert connected with him. He did draw a few pass interference calls for what that's worth? Haven't seen anything from Hyder.

Saw Zelt Minor record a few sacks, one in which he drove the offensive lineman back about 8 yards straight into the QB (who was pretty fast and athletic). Colbert appears to be very shifty with great acceleration and agility, if he doesn't get a QB role then I'd say he could be a really great receiver... if he can catch.

I heard from a source which will remain nameless but connected that Bonney's parents don't want him going to a big public school... I'd take that with a grain of salt though but adds fuel for wishful thinking...

Great to know...that might turn out to be a super connection for the PONYS!

I completely agree. I was blown away by his highlights . . man amongst boys for sure . . . one never knows how that translates to the college ranks, though. . . . I have high hopes for the young man and super excited about the pipeline being built there hopefully . . . can we have 5 more just like him please? :-)

Come on, Bonney. You could play here from day one, play close to home, get a superior education on a beautiful campus (with beautiful women), with guys who have tons of NFL connections and a track record of getting guys into the pros. (easy sales pitch to anyone, so let's get after it SMU football recruiters!)

I think we should sell the fact that weve sent 17? Kids to the NFL all which came in as two star recruits or less.... Imagine the potential if we got 4 or 5 star athletes... we can dream right?

One or two 5-star chippers could lure more.

Having one or two of those seventeen (preferably a skill position player) make it big would go a long way to improving the program's visibility.
