Ha! Just about the only place he doesn't want to be is in College Station or the A&M campus-just too much distractions for one superstar to stand

Maybe with all of his "extra-curricular" activities and the Alabama game before us he won't be up to form and we can sneak up on the Ags.

I believe this young man deserves to experience life to the fullest. And one way to do just that is to experience life outside football and outside College Station. If he wants to explore new opportunities and experiences, I say more power to him. And I think he needs to intensify his research for the next 2 months or so.

Put it this way: I'm really grateful that my college behavior wasn't scrutinized as intensely as Manziel's has been.

Yes, but you also didn't have the opportunities that Manziel has. He needs to focus on football and his studies. Once his career flames out he can do whatever he wants.

This is great...all the aggies talk about their undying love of all things Aggie and their star QB couldn't care less about the school or the town it's in.

Glad some of our past SMU football players behavior wasn't scrutinized as intensely as Manziel's has been. But with that being said he need to know he is under a microscope now. Doesn't need to act like he is the third string kicker that gets no any publicity. Jezzz.

So Austin took away the one thing in College Station that people care about most - their Heisman-winning QB!! Priceless - he's giving the hook em horns symbol!

two schools of thought down here in aggieland..old ags and new ags....

1) "Old Army" thinks the kid is an embarrassment, and 'someone' needs to reign him in. Not likely to happen with the surrounding cast of folks and a university that is giddy for success in the SEC. While word is that select coaches have talked to him about image, responsibility, and idiocracy of social media slip-ups, JF's response has been "meh". I tend to agree with ponyte on this one...the kid will have to learn by experience, and that by pushing the envelope hard the next two months. That experience can be a cruel mistress.

2) "New Army" just says win and forget the bad publicity...just win.

The one unifying factor in this is that A&M COULD actually be much better than last year, or could do as Aggie teams in the past have done when loaded, and choke. I tend to lean to the latter, not because I dislike A&M singularly, but because so much is built on a kid that at any moment could win you the game or get 'caught' with a DUI situation.

In any case, sad to see such talent being focused in so many competing directions, when the opportunity for something remarkable is at hand.

When does Aggie fall camp start? Maybe he will be a bit more low key then.
