We better have more than 4 good players in the entire class to move to the next level. Plus Traylon, Zelt and JaBryce were the highest rated recruits in the class. If it is just a few out of an entire class that are good then yes, it is a failure to recruit. A few players that pan out don't make a solid class. Depth has been a main issue for years.Mustangsabu wrote:Obviously an example of JJ's total failure to recruit...
Agreed. Minor, Taylor, and Gaines (especially Gaines) are legit "big time" recruits. I think they all start by some point during the season. My only question is why are these guys playing in these high school all star games NOW? They should be working out for SMU and getting into the playbook. Kudos to Taylor, though. Good stuff. At least, they should be in good shape coming into camp.StallionsModelT wrote:Mustangsabu,
Please tell me you're kidding. This is an exhibition game. Yes it is exciting to see this but until we see it in an actual game I won't go to the JJ diamond in the rough well. People fail to realize of the four WR's that we currently have in the NFL, June Jones only recruited one of them. Maybe we should've kept the Mustache around to find the talent for June to coach!
Might be an error but the Dallas Morning News said he finished with six catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns as the offensive MVP.Rebel10 wrote:He has 226 yards now.
JJ should be recruiting better, but in fairness to him, this past years' class was JJ's first class to graduate (Zach Line's class) so he hasn't had a lot of chance to put wr's into the NFL. JJ arrived in what, January, just a little before Cole Beasley's class' signing date (Cole Beasley had already committed to SMU under Phil Bennett).StallionsModelT wrote:Mustangsabu,
