Wow.
• WR/TE Jeremiah Gaines is going to be a handful for defenses when he gets his chance. The freshman from Red Oak, Texas has shown the ability to run and soft hands, and he runs good routes … but teams that try to shadow him with a safety might have to come up with a Plan B. At one point, he caught a pass over the middle and dragged two linebackers about 10 yards before the play ended.

Not bad at all. He's not a big guy, but he (I hate this phrase) "plays bigger than he is." He has long arms and seems pretty good at getting to the ball at the very highest possible point in his jump. He's not going to blow up a stopwatch with sprinter speed, but he's fast enough (the same could be said about Cole Beasley), and seems to have good hands (see the one-handed catches that he makes every now and then). We're not invited to meetings, film sessions, etc., so it's hard to know how much he and the other freshmen really grasp the offensive and defensive systems, but he looks like he can play. How soon remains to be seen.
