Air Raid meets Run and Shoot --- Where??????????????

Post by smuhype »

Love our program, love what we have done in past four years, but man last night was frustrating.

Another lost opportunity.

Not sure if I missed it but somehow I thought the Air Raid would push us deeper down the field - similar to what I have seen with Hal's offense at Kentucky and New Mexico St.?

I counted 2 times that we took it up field and both worked.

Granted our OFF LINE was as issue throughout the game, but 2 times?

I wonder when June Jones quits getting a free pass on this offense?

Was looking all night for something different.
Same slow tempo, same 5 yard crossing route over the middle, over and over and over...
Nothing vertical, nothing explosive.

Pathetic is the word you are looking for. And overpriced. I would take $100k and use the other $2 million to hire a staff and we'd be at least more interesting to watch. And, we damn sure would have a kid who can kick a 27 yard FG! Past his prime.

The Air Raid is a more horizontally inclined offense (notice all the screens, crosses, outs, etc). Problem with us is we don't have the quick twitch horses to turn those into big gainers.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
