Poorly written. Wrong approach: preachy, self righteous, will turn off the audience it's directed at.

The problem is that the audience it is directed at cant read. They are the worst out there. Read the comment section. Some of them are so stupid they don't even know they are stupid.

the alumni have a better feeling for how this perception is hurting the school's reputation. You get a much more critical response on Tech Scout board

On the positive side they are being called out for being overly excited about their team and selling out a 60k stadium. They do need to calm down and act like adults, but being called out for that is better than the school newspaper having to beg students to care enough to show up to games.

In the last 15 years I have never heard a visiting fan say anything positive about a trip to a Tech game. Their fans are jerks and its almost universal.

I had a family member go to Disco Tech back in the 70's and it was a laid back West Texas town. The fans at the SMU game did their team a disservice - the police were busy in our section.

When I lived in Texas 25 years ago, I always thought people from West Texas were the friendliest of all Texans. What happened?

We still are.
Most of garbage the paper refers to happens on the east side of the stadium, students, non season ticket seats. I sat on the west side for the SMU game a couple of years ago and the folks over there where great and could not have been nicer.

Wow...that was quote possibly the most poorly written article I've ever read. Do they not have an editor, or anyone w a brain for that matter, to glance at that pungent mess before print/upload?
