Beat TCU

How sweet would it be to beat TCU at their house and send them to 1-3? You'd start to get a fire Patterson crowd going and bring about massive gnashing of teeth in purple land. And, as an added bonus, it would shut up the June Jones haters on this board if only for a few minutes. Doubly sweet.

What would a loss do since most of the JJ supporters expect a loss?

Not sure what you're asking. But a loss would make the JJ haters irrationally a little more vocal, even though as underdogs a loss should never be a suprise.

Some folks just have an agenda, truth be damned.

I'm wearing my SMU shirt and SMU boots around work in Fort Worth today. Feels good. The natives are nervous. This is a tough one for them. They are big favorites and if we pull off the upset there will be much weeping wailing and gnashing of teeth. And if they win less than convincingly there will be much of the same. Trap game!!!

Mustangs Abu!

Don't the hardcore JJ supporters have an agenda, truth be whatever? So the truth is that you are expecting a loss?

Taking the under in the game (52). The spread creeped up to 19.

Let's do it.

Sure I'm expecting a loss. Not expecting like expecting the sun to come up. But expecting as in we will probably lose. That's what underdogs tend to do.

I don't have an agenda and I don't believe Abu does. Just truth and fairness. Not sure about anyone else.

June could win out and take us to the Orange Bowl and beat Clemson and some on here would still want him fired because he talked to Arizona State two years ago. I bet those same posters stalked the hell out of their ex girlfriends

I have no problem with him talking to Arizona. I do have a problem with him walking out on our recruits and negotiating, during our biggest recruiting weekend, and also recruiting for Arizona while on our payroll. Having a big problem getting over that.

the ASU/Maryland situations are no factor in my criticism. Coaches leave for better jobs. Big deal.

Fine, but that's college football. You have to strike while the iron's hot and coaching searches can go down in a matter of hours.

The situation was a really [deleted] one in terms of the timing and the fact that JJ thought he had an offer in hand which was later revoked. I don't think he would have "recruited on our dime" or walked out or whatever if he didn't think he had a solid offer from ASU in hand that was later pulled out from under him. We got a pretty raw deal in the end, but June got a pretty raw deal from ASU as well.

Recruit has his choices narrowed down to Nebraska and SMU and is ready to commit. Out of the blue, within 24 hours of Jones almost getting the ASU job the kid commits to ASU and they did not even have a coach. That to me is very clear evidence that Jones was recruiting for another school while in our employ. Him going elsewhere would have never bothered me. Coaches leave all the time. It would be nice to have an SMU coach be hired away by a bigger program. It would show we are doing something right. But he could have waited until he was in the other employ to recruit for them.

I just left a job I was in for 20 years. Large client base. I worked for my old company until the last minute of the last day. I told none of my clients to leave the other company prior to leaving. Once I got here I starting soliciting business to where I am. Part of the game. But don't work for another company when being paid by the other.

Time to get real when it comes to June. It is obvious he is just collecting a salary. I like what he has done for our program, but he has plateaued. He shows ABSOLUTELY ZERO passion! It shows with his players. He is supposed to be an offensive guru, yet we can't seem to score any touchdowns. The blame is not all on him, but I think it is time we move on from June. The fan support is pathetic, but that is not going to change until we win games. 6-6 every year is not something to be proud of after 5 years. We need a Coach that will be a presence in Dallas, and help us gain fans that have no affiliation with SMU but live in the city. That is how TCU has been so succesful.

Yep, not like it would have been any harder to steal our recruits once he was officially Arizona State's HC.
