Glad that we are moving towards having blue be our primary color with red in a supporting role moving forward.

Yeah Blue to be primary uniform color-pretty informative report on numerous issues like expanded curiculum, IPF, uniforms etc. I think Hart knows what he is doing at least administratively and he's responsive to our fans. Reserve judgment on Coaching searches

That is communication on a level we have never had. You might not love all the news, but at least he is getting the word out there.

We really need a great conference affiliation. This place could be so amazing with some more dough.

In my opinion, our non-conference schedule this year (and last year and, potentially, next year) does not provide our team with the best opportunity for competitive success throughout the course of the season.
Yes.

I have to admit, it seems like Hart is trying to address fan concerns, and that is something the department is doing right in at least keeping in touch regarding issues in the department.

I do like the blue jerseys (Hubba those jerseys) and I think they are at least listening to the fans on that. I really like the idea of a blue/red/white et of alt jerseies, perhaps blue like the Rutgers game as the regulars, a red/crimson version of that as an alt and white for travel.

I like the sound of Swimming facility in the neat future as well. I have heard that we still don't have the money to initiate it, but at least Hart is making it sound like a priority (and I know swimming is non-revenue, but it should be the non-rev priority for the moment).

I have been critical recently of the department and SMU, but this is something I think they are getting right and I applaud the effort.

The best thing SMU can do to try and catch on to the "uniform craze" is to market itself with the only SMU brand that people know: PONY EXPRESS. Blue, oversized SMU on the chest, classic white helmet w/ the red pony.... That's what people know us for. Embrace the stereotype and build around that brand. Anything else will just look stupid.

I applaud the communication either way. Hart really isn't making all these decisions himself anyway. Quite frankly if you have money for a IPF (and a place to put it) and not a Swimming Pool you build the IPF. If swimming was a greater priority to the alumni then funding would be found. That's how things go at private schools. Don't hi-jack the football program to bribe some willing donor to first fund swimming when Football quite frankly is much more important to the athletic department

I like everything I read other than the IPF, which sounds like it somehow found itself lower on the priority list somewhere along the way in the past.

Anyway, LOVE the blue uniforms as primary. Looks like we will roll out new uniforms next year. Hopefully it will be accompanied with some sizzle in the marketing campaign coming off a great season! (ie we finish strong this year).

Why the sudden shift towards blue?

He also mentions that we will need another set of helmets...any guesses?

pretty sure Hart told me last year they would like to build the IPF next to Ford (on Wescott site) to keep football facilities all together. As I recall, a multi-purpose athletics complex was planned east of Central, so there is MAJOR fundraising to be done
