GM was awful there.

He actually kicked a kid off the team for being too good. I'm not kidding. He thought they relied on the kids production too much so he got rid of him. Admitted publicly that the kid did nothing wrong and the kid claims he never even got an explanation. He even did it so late in the off season that the kid couldn't immediately transfer anywhere.

South Alabama will eventually pass up UAB as the 3rd school in Alabama. . . Not controlled by the UA-Tuscaloosa BOR like UAB is.

Yupp. We get rid of a bad coach and don't even have to pay a buyout. Louisville actually has to pay UAB $550,000 to take him.

Maybe Louisville could hire JJ away to be their OC instead?

well GM was making something like $500k a year while June is getting $2 million so...

to put that into perspective, A&M offered Pat Narduzzi $750k a year to be their DC when Sumlin was first putting together a staff.

It could simply be that GM is getting paid more to be an OC. It could also be that he knew he was in over his head and got out ASAP before his stock completely tanked and prevented him from ever getting another HC gig.

This probably says it all.

I know with all of our own issues I should not feel this way but I really do feel sorry for our former conference mates UAB and Southern Miss.

Agree mrydel. All of the non P5 are just flailing around. Kinda sad situation we are all in.
