SMU offers Aledo 2015 WR Ryan Newsome

It only took the coaching staff about 7 months to figure out where he was. He's only been offered by USC, Alabama and Oklahoma and about 2 dozen other schools.
Better late than never I guess. Read on his profile Jason Phillips is his recruiter.

It may be miniscule chance but it is a chance they did not have before they offered.

I'm sure we will get him away from Bama. Probably the only true football player who wants an actual education. THere has to be one, right?

The reality is that some guys will want to be stars rather than take up roster spots and ride the pine at places like Bama. SMU is one such opportunity. We shouldn't lose out on all of those. But we need someone who can actually sell the program.

Jason Phillips should play the "if I can get 2-star WR prospects into the NFL, immagine what I can do with a 4-star prospect!"
