SMU Football Tickets Remain Hot; New Mini-Plans Now On Sale
Season Ticket Sales Surpass 2013 Levels Months Before Kickoff

June 4, 2014

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU football tickets are selling quickly, as season ticket sales for the 2014 season have already surpassed 2013 levels more than three months before the first home game. Renewal rates are strong and new sales are flooding in, with over 1,500 new season tickets now sold.

To continue the hot sales run, SMU today launched Red & Blue mini-plans built for families and fans than can’t commit to full season tickets. The Red plan includes tickets to the TCU, Memphis and Houston games and starts at just $60. The Blue plan includes tickets to the Texas A&M, Cincinnati and USF games and starts at only $70.

SMU enters the season looking to build upon its run of recent on-field success. The Mustangs have been to four bowls in five seasons and have won 35 games over that span, the eighth-best five-year stretch in school history.

To purchase a mini-plan or season tickets, call the SMU Ticket Office at 214-768-4263.

I wonder if this means we will wear red uniforms for the red package games (TCU, Memphis, Houston) and blue uniforms for the blue package (A&M, Cincy, USF)?

And please don't price the ags out of the seats, ala 2012 and the endzone temporary bleacher seat fiasco. Have them buy mini plans in droves and show up. A full Ford of 65% ags is much more interesting (and lucrative) than red empty bleachers.

With Aggie ticket plans starting at just $70 with two extra games, the game should be sold out. I suppose attendance is more of the goal this time around instead of profit maximization. Weren't the A&M tickets $90 by themselves last time? Even still, some tickets were sold in the temporary bleachers. Who cares if you price Aggies out of the local game? However, if well heeled Pony alums complained of price gouging and not being able to bring friends at a somewhat affordable rate, that's another story.
