SMU comes in No. 60 tied with the University of Georgia. Rice is No. 18. I know we're ahead of A&M but I didn't really look beyond that. Have fun beating your chest. I have no idea how this compares to previous years.

Orsini would be disappointed since he wanted us to be top 25 in all that we do.

I agree that the fratastic kids do a lot for the university b.c they generally have great trust funds that allow them to give back to the university after they graduate, which is very important. And they tend to be very involved in university events after they graduate.

But what if we dumped all of the fratastic kids and replaced them with nerds, like down at Rice. Maybe we could then be tied with Rice at #18?

Why are we talking about rankings that are a year old? This is not news.

And no - it would not be worth becoming an all nerd school. Rice is a great University but it has no soul, and they are smart but they don't know how to sell themselves or anything else.

We will move up in 2014. The goal of the university is to crack the Top 40 and pass UT-Austin on this list. In a decade it'll be done.

Because I screwed up and thought these were the new ones. My mistake.

That's a pretty broad generalization given that a good number of those kids get pretty solid grades and jobs after school

They're also basically the only ones that donate to the school in any amount of consequence.

Most of my fraternity brothers had fantastic grades. We had guys going to Yale, Stanford, Columbia, UT, Princeton, and Vandy for grad school. Virtually every year, we had a guy go to med school.
