Source tells me talked w/ #Clemson OC Chad Morris and A&M's David Beaty; both "very interested" in the SMU vacancy, have local ties. #GigEm

Nope. Nope. Nope.
Refuse to get hopes up. This will crash and burn in the SMU way.

I'm sure everyone is "interested ". As my grandfather said you never decline a job before it's offered.

Interested in one thing but very interested is another. Both these guys can flat out get it on the recruiting trail.

Morris will take the job if we offer it to him, from everything that has been gathered. I would just hope he surrounds himself with a staff full of Texas roots for recruiting purposes.

Why would we hire a wide receivers coach? At the very least it needs to be a coordinator

Beaty's resume is a tad light on coordinator experience
1 year at Kansas (Co-Coor.) and 1 year at Rice
But that A&M staff is loaded

SMU is a solid job. Don't get why that is hard to believe. Embrace success...Larry already showed us the way.

Depends, is it just any wide receivers coach or is it a wide receivers coach that recruits DFW better than any assistant in college football? In case you haven't noticed we have a bit of trouble recruiting our region.

Ever since the death penalty our fan base has had this weird Charlie brown meets Eey-ore kind of culture where everyone is in competition to see who can be the most beaten down pessimistic "fan". It is flat out weird.
Our university has so much to offer. Of course great coaches are interested. It is an easy turn around for someone who works hard.

Maybe its because every time Charlie Brown runs up to kick the football, Lucy pulls it back and Charlie ends up on his backside.

Again, LB showed what is possible here and how excited people get. We are just as human as the people in Tuscaloosa, College Station, Austin and Norman, don't put yourself down with no reason...others do that for us already.
