SMU has been stating this for almost 20 years (both basketball and football) and has anyone seen a noticeable difference?Charleston Pony wrote:recruiting kids from the DFW metro area will also help improve attendance as more family and friends learn the way to Ford
Well...we have only really been recruiting kids hard from DFW for about 3 weeks now, so we'll have to wait to find out.CA Mustang wrote:SMU has been stating this for almost 20 years (both basketball and football) and has anyone seen a noticeable difference?Charleston Pony wrote:recruiting kids from the DFW metro area will also help improve attendance as more family and friends learn the way to Ford

Sadly...4 more DFW kids equals probably 25 more parents/grand parents/siblings...which would be a noticeable jump in attendance over last season!Charleston Pony wrote:recruiting kids from the DFW metro area will also help improve attendance as more family and friends learn the way to Ford
What kids do we have from the Dallas area?CA Mustang wrote:SMU has been stating this for almost 20 years (both basketball and football) and has anyone seen a noticeable difference?Charleston Pony wrote:recruiting kids from the DFW metro area will also help improve attendance as more family and friends learn the way to Ford
Was at the game today and definitely noticed a difference from my student years. Local kids on a quality squad that entertains...the perfect solution to the SMU attendance problem. Now, if they could get more advertising locally I would like it, but I may have just missed it in my week back in town. What I can say is the much more polished product on display at the basketball game (even with a new years eve game that was underattended but still loud) needs to find its way to football, as well as the product, and attendance will follow. The program in football is like the field in "Field of Dreams..." if you build it, they will come.ponyboy wrote:I've noticed something in basketball.
It depends upon how you define the Dallas area, but I count approx. 30.
