Re: Myron Gailliard Track
We get D3 sprinters. TCU and Baylor get D1 all-american level guys.

Is speed faster in D1 than D3?

Re: Myron Gailliard Track
Well for example, Listenbee from TCU ran 10.12.
Sorry to be debbie downer but if we want to be a Power5 team, we can't fawn over mediocrity.
When I read threads about track, I am hoping for legit dudes. I will adjust my expectations

I am not saying the particular kid is good or bad, but when I was in school, a 10.12 in D1 was equal to a 10.12 in D3, but apparently there is a difference by what you said.

Re: Myron Gailliard Track
I was alluding to good NCAA D1 vs D3 level sprinter times. Big difference there.
Just saying that TCU has at least 10 guys that can run a 10.x 100m and a few that are legit burners. Do we have 1 such guy? Not that I know of.

Re: Myron Gailliard Track
Listenbee' best time in the 100 meters at a track meet is 10.31 at TCU. He isn't reported to have run the 100 Meters in High School although he ran 2nd as a junior in the 200 meters at the UIL 5A State Championships with a 21.59

yeah he did run a 10.12 finishing 4th in the Big 12 outdoor Championship -with wind aid listed at 4.2. What is the wind aid maximum? Looks like it 2 meters per second-whatever that equals to
From Wikipedia
Due to a tailwind helping to enhance the speed of the athlete in events like certain sprint races (100 and 200 metres), 100/110 metres hurdles, the triple jump and the long jump, there is a limit to how much assisting wind the athlete may perform under if the performance is to establish a record. If a tail wind exceeds 2 metres per second (3.9 kn) the result cannot be registered as a record on any level

Wasn't Gailliard a JJ recruit? So any production from him is just gravy
