Cedar Hill (Texas) cornerback Eric Sutton's announcement in June that he plans to sign in 2016 to play at SMU meant two things: the new SMU coaching staff has continued to establish a foothold with some of the premier high school programs in the Dallas area, and the Mustangs will be getting a versatile player with an NFL pedigree and the ability to play as many as five roles on defense and special teams. Sutton visited with PonyFans.com to discuss his decision, his thoughts on the SMU coaching staff and the impact he hopes the SMU class of 2016 can make on the Hilltop.

Coach Loepp is one of the Coaches I expected the least from in recruiting but he's been great-kids love him. I guess the first hint is that he is a former recruiting coordinator
