Our newest 2017 commit.

WR from El Paso. 6'3" 200 lbs. Rivals 3 star. Also offered by UTEP, with heavy interest from Kansas and Texas Tech.

That's 2 commits for 2017, both WR's. This one will be an outside WR. Rivals has a free article.

So add this guy to Courtland Sutton, Alex Honey, Kevin Thomas. Suddenly there's a bunch of big WRs with speed out there.

I happened to see an article about this commitment yesterday, and I didn't see where anyone had posted about it on PF. But I'm not a recruiting expert and don't pretend to be. So rather than subject PFs to my "analysis" of Mr. Hampton, I thought it best just to start the thread and let others who actually know what they are talking about fill in the blanks.

Looks like the 2017 class is starting out well.

Good pick up.

I was at the 1983 frozen Cotton Bowl. Little known fact Dickerson and James slipped about 6 times that would have been long TD runs due to field conditions. #shouldhavebeennationalchamps

I was at that game as well. Don't remember 6 slips that prevented TDs, do remember how impressed I was with Marino's quick release.

Also there and if I had not put two bottles and Champaign in girlfriends purse, we would have been cold. :D
7-3 if I remember right.

Was there also with my 8 year old son. We almost wimped out at halftime due to brutal cold and drizzle - but stayed and so glad we did. The game was truly a highlight of my son's youth and he recalls the game often with great detail!

I did not actually attend that game. I was just a kid growing up in California at the time. But thanks to the magic of Youtube and ESPN Classic, I've now been able to watch many of the games from 1981-1983. McIlhenny's touchdown in the Cotton Bowl (ie. my avatar) may be my favorite SMU football moment. As far as moments I've actually witnessed in real-time, Nic's 3 to beat Cal in the NIT is tough to beat.

Is Proche "big"?

I'm curious to know what height Brandon Benson really is. I've seen him listed at 6'2".

Very interested to see how Kevin Thomas does in year 2.
