Here my regular post on the anemic support the program continues to receive.

Yesterday was embarrassing --- 3-1 coming in, gorgeous weather, early start (no conflict with all of the Dallas options that people speak of........WTF?

STUDENTS --- Do we have any? You think we could get 20-25% of undergrads? Local Alumni - 5-10%?

Two Questions:

1) If we were 8-0 and ranked would anyone show up?
2) Would anyone else LOVE to hear Morris start ripping the SMU community and students for their continued lack of support --- ? I know I would.

Morris does not strike me as the type that will bad mouth attendance in public. He will and does in private.

SMU is too small to fill even a 32k stadium with only it's own students/alumni. Need a product that the DFW sports community will support before we will ever pack Ford for opponents like UConn

Let's go to Arena Football in Moody they'll have to reseat it twice

June and his players ripped on attendance and we tore them down for it. So that probably isn't the right way to go...

We won't get a bump in attendance until the local media start talking about SMU as a good football team, and the national media catches on as well. And that doesn't happen unless we sweep Houston and Cincy on the road.

A .500 conference record isn't enough to turn the dial. Have to win a lot of games to get that respect.

Exactly. We need T shirt fans like myself. I would imagine our attendance in relation to alumni and current enrollment is pretty comparable to most other G5's and lower level P5's.

Nailed it. The sad reality of a small school. However, I remember a full stadium when we placed TCU at home in 2010. I believe we also had decent attendence with Tech game at home. If we can get back to scheduling regional rivals (not NTCC), and we could win, we can increase those percentages on a normal basis. UCONN wasn’t going to get us past the 50% mark.

If you schedule Texas Tech - Baylor - A&M - and Texas for the first four games you're sold out plain and simple. Unfortunately then your 0 and 4 - and I would show up for those

No we would beat Baylor in its current state, lucky us not playing them...

I think Tech is a manageable game for us and A&M is having a down year. On a normal basis, I agree we would have a rough record but at least interesting games.

People will show up for those

Maybe we secretly schedule seven or eight of the Big 12 schools as one of their non-conference games and then tell the media we are in the Big 12. Show up at the meeting where they hand out the TV money checks and everything will be solved.

I would kill to see 1,500 students and 10,000 alums PLUS the other 8,000-10,000 falling outside those buckets.

We would have 20,000-22,000 which would be 2x the mess we saw yesterday.

Our announced numbers are a joke. Don't let anyone off the hook. Students especially should be embarrassed --- DISGUTS me greatly.
