Was told if you looked at replace of targeting call. we did not even make good contact on any part of the player. Weird bad call.

Weird bad QB play as well. All night , late reads and super bad accuracy.

I have looked at the replay of the targeting call myself several times. The receiver had slipped and was falling to the ground when our defensive back made contact, which was very minimal at least from that camera angle. The receiver jumps up holding his helmet so the ref threw his flag. Unless there was something I couldn't see on the tv, the contact was not made intentionally above the shoulders or malicious in any way. If the receiver hadn't been falling down, he would have been hit around the waist. Denbow should not have been ejected in my opinion, but I'm sure the refs are very sensitive with this issue.

yeah but I don't think intentional or malicious are required. Its a foul-it maybe unfair especially when the runner ducks before getting hit but its still a foul. Here's a good breakdown of the rule

Thanks Stallion for the link. I forgot the other part of the targeting rule besides the 'above the shoulders' part. Oh well.. probably didn't really affect the outcome of the game.

Denbow on the replay clearly changes his direction and tries to avoid after the slip, and it is really iffy if he actually made any contact.

No excuses is good, but man that really looked like a "fog of war" game from Jones' tenure.
