Also, win over LA Tech looking worse. Announcers are still shouting "Smoke Harris!" every drive while the fighting Sonny's get steamrolled at 3-6.Charleston Pony wrote:Win out and people will notice although that loss to TCU looks worse and worse

Just need to beat a decent team.mustangxc wrote:Another lopsided win and we lost 2 votes in the Coaches poll. I guess we need to score 100 to get some respect. Beat Rice!
Surprising they have us ranked higher than TCU but the frogs are a different team without Morris playing out of his mind like he did against usindianmustang wrote:Moved to 19 in FPISmumba2009 wrote:SMU up to #24 within ESPN football power index(FPI) ranking.

Tulane lost to Ole Miss by the same 17 points that we lost by to both OU & TCU but they've played a much tougher AAC schedule than SMU has with wins @ Memphis and @ Rice and wins vs UAB and UNT in New Orleans. We will have the opportunity to win at both Rice and Memphis and beat UNT at Ford so there will be that for comparison purposes by year end.35straight II wrote:Who had Tulane beat?
The ranking/rating systems, and especially the human voters, need to do a much better job of adjusting their view of results based on the strength of the opponent at the time the game was played. The TCU that beat SMU was a much better team than the Toads are now. The Kansas that beat Duke last year was a much better team before TCU injured their starting QB a week or two later and tanked their season. Duke was a much better team until our starting QB got hurt late against ND.35straight II wrote:So…..nobody, and they are playing the same trash schedule we are. That tcu loss is looking pretty bad though. And how fun is it to say that tcu is bringing down our SOS.
