TCU v Hou - Friday night, prime time, no competition, major network.

SMU v UL - Major network 12pm start, yet look at the competition - ESPN 1.41
Mizzou v A&M - ABC 3.27
UCLA v PSU - FOX 2.75
Navy v Air Force - CBS 1.28
Pitt v UNC - ESPN2 645K
Purdue v Wisconsin - BTN 588K
WF v NCST - CW 446K
Army v Tulsa - ESPNU 72K

Considering the competition, I believe that 1.41 to be a very strong number. It would be nice if ACC teams did not compete with each other, but I guess that would be quite difficult.

So was our BYU game, right? Surprised they outdrew that game considering BYU's following nationally. We know SMU doesn't attract significant numbers but if we can become a winning brand again that will change.

BYU vs SMU was on the deuce. Big ratings difference. Was baseball in ESPN that night?

Being ranked will add more eyeballs for sure.

The bigger competition was the NFL (Eagles v Packers game on peacock) against BYU v SMU.

ABC swept the weekendΓÇÖs top three college football audiences, opening the day with 4.07 million for an ACC matchup of Miami-Louisville ΓÇö up 88% from UCF-Oklahoma a year ago (2.17M) and the top game in a competitive Noon ET window that also featured Nebraska-Indiana on FOX and Auburn-Missouri on ESPN (2.45M).

LetΓÇÖs not forget the whole ESPN/DirecTV debacle. I went to different 2 sports bars in Detroit to watch the SMU game. Neither had ESPN because They were both DirecTV subscribers. I had to watch that whole freaking game on my phone.

Yes, I ended up driving over for the game in part because I knew I wouldn't be able to watch at home. The ratings for the games that month have to be taken with a grain of salt as they are really meaningless.
