Final Week of Year One in the ACC

As we come into the last week of the first year of SMU being in the ACC, I thought I would get your thoughts.
I'm a Clemson guy, but I've loved having SMU as an addition to the conference. I have enjoyed my interactions with fans on this message board, and I've enjoyed watching the Mustangs play. I feel like SMU is a good fit academically and culturally for the ACC, and has really almost felt like a natural addition that has been good both for SMU and the conference. Looking forward to welcoming the Mustangs and their fans to Death Valley this fall. I hope many of you can make it out, and I look forward to traveling to Dallas for a game in the future!

BillgoCU,

We appreciate your positive post on PonyFans and share your enthusiasm for SMU joining such a great conference of impressive schools, academically and athletically. You can expect us to respect what the ACC is and what a strong future it will enjoy as one of the Power 4 Conferences.

Now that we are in the "club", we continue to invest and be competitive. Our recent coaching hires in MBB and WBB, along with a new AD demonstrate we know what it will take to compete consistently with Clemson and the rest of our conference mates.

Game days will be spirited. 8)

Correct all around. Distance is the only issue, but the ACC could remedy that if it has the leadership with Brians and balls to do so.

IDK -- I was never a fan of Brain Bosworth.

I never cared for Clemson one way or the other until we joined the ACC. But now I will root for them every time they play out of conference. And every time they play a conference game where a win would help us. And every time they play FSU.

Remember Clemson's 1981 Natty. Homer Jordan, Tuttle etc. Not a huge
Dabo fan but I pulled for the Tigers against Alabama.
