Well, it might make you feel better that another site has released "this is what Phil Steele predicts" and SMU is 3rd, not 2nd. Weird situation. The link below does link to Phil's site, but I can't read behind Phil's paywall--still, that seems maybe more authoritative?

As weird as Phil Steele is (ever seen an interview with him?), he often is more accurate with predictions than the folks at other publications like Athlon's or Dave Campbell's, which sometimes read like their writers have never seen the teams they write about.

That said, I'd love for PS to be right about this, but I have too many questions. The 4-6 range feels more comfortable to me.

The key is: How many ACC teams will the SEC and BT allow into the Playoffs? WE need to get 3 in. So I hope everybody has a good or great OOC year. Even Dook and MooU.

I've seen people who know him say that baseball stats mastermind Bill James is on the Autism Spectrum, so I word not be surprised if Phil Steele is too.
