Former SMU quarterback Matt Davis had his final season cut short by injury, but he was not ready to give up his playing career just yet. Davis rehabbed his injury enough to earn a tryout with the Los Angeles Rams at the start of the summer, and visited recently with PonyFans.com to discuss his future in football and off the field.

Matt has always seemed like a leader since he got to SMU at least. I hope he gets a shot with a team as he is a great athlete, but if not he should definitely look into coaching. He could do both, coach and start his NFP.
