You said we would roll gonzaga. Go away.
Not that I agree with Big12's original statement, but I still think we played much worse than they played well. I hope they get better as the year goes on for obvious reasons, but no way that Gonzaga team tonight pushes a team like AZ around I just think we looked absolutely flat, lost and dysfunctional out there, and got outworked as well.

A few added thoughts.
1) We were nervous and intimidated by their size and the great fan atmosphere. We played tight most of the game.
2) Gonzaga was just a better team tonight. It is hard for Moore, Cannen, and Moreira to contain 6-10 inch 231 lb Sabonis; 6-10 240 lb Wiltzer; 7-1 288 lb Karnowski; and 6-8 202 lb Nunez. They got most of the boards and blocked several shots. We have to play very smart against teams with this much size and we didn't tonight.
3) This did not look like an LB coached team - they need to calm down.
4) I agree with OBFs points - we will play better and we do miss MK.
5) The Zags will make the final four if they play like they did tonight.
6) Larry loves to teach so the game film should give him many opportunities.

I think we made Gonzaga look better than they really are.

There's probably some truth to this. Height (at all positions) was an issue all night, but Zags won't have that kind of advantage over many top 25 teams. Time to get ready for Indiana.

You aren't going to look competitive against anyone when nothing will go in the basket. We were super cold all game. Guys were rattled. We shouldn't read too much in to this one game.

Turned out about how I thought it would. Gonzaga is a legit Elite 8 team playing at an arena with one of the best home court advantages against a team that will only get to the 2nd round (not counting First a Four) or Sweet 16 unless we get MK back. See: what we did to Cincy at Moody last year, but Zags are better than we were last year

They weren't just bigger. They were quicker. They got to every 50/50 ball before we did, tied us up and slapped balls out of our hands all night. Isn't that what we usually do?
Missing MK underneath really hurt. We managed to draw fouls from their bigs but MK would have done it better.
I think we will be alot better team later in the season as the new guys fit in and MK ( lord, we hope) comes back.
That WAS a potential final four team we played last night and that is one tough place to play.
That said, we got drubbed. Hard to find much positive other than " tuition paid."
Oh...and....why did i stay up for THIS?

I still can't believe how good Gonzaga was last night and how poor SMU played. Ponies are better than they showed but Zags are REAL DEAL.

Ben Moore needs to be the player that steps up. When he decides to take it to the hoop, he gets there quick and can out jump anyone. He can be that player with more confidence. He just seems timid sometimes. Need more plays directed at him. It would also take some pressure off little nicky.

The team was flat with that being said we have to get away from if Mudiay was here. He's not. We've got to roll with what we have.
