He genuinely could not understand why.

Half of Jake and the Fat Man. You can guess which half. Then later, Barnaby Jones.

One time in high school we played an all-white team in Arkansas (my school was in Memphis and about 90% black). The whole game we heard constant racist comments from their team and bench and there were some very questionable calls. Well, towards the end of the game they were kicking an extra point and one of our 3 white starters (I was one but not THIS one), decided to just take out their kicker (tackled him) instead of trying to block it. That started a huge riot, both benches cleared/the stands cleared (ie fans stormed the field). Game over. And we all got on the bus as quick as possible with a police escort. Absolutely shocked no one got killed that night.

I can certain believe that but it does not have to be race either. We had a group of students go to an away game on a bus. When they returned to the bus to come home it had been vandalized beyond use. Had to make other arrangements. We had a very limited black enrollment as did the other school. There are a-holes of all races.

This was definitely a total accident if you watch it carefully you'll see what I'm talking about

I have watched it several times. It was very intentional. Are you going to actually say the second kid who ran from 5 yards away and speared the official was an accident. Come on man.

According to the media the second player had lost both of his contact lenses and is nearly blind without them. The first player had a minor concussion and was confused according to police reports

I am sure that a blind player would be used as safety. That has been known to be a bad move ever since Stevie Wonder got beat 4 times in the late 60s.
